Abstract
This research report presented is an engineering analysis of the damage to the Los Angeles River Floodway System by the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. The scope of this research includes: a study of the damage to two specific sections of the L.A. River Channel, a comparison of damaged and undamaged sections of the floodway channel, an analysis to determine the mechanisms of damage, and a look at dynamic earth pressure theories and their predictive capabilities.
