dc.description.abstractThe town of Blacksburg, Virginia is planning the construction of a new Community Recreation Center. The proposed facility will be located adjacent to the existing Municipal Park, and the site will be called the Blacksburg Commons. The recreation building will serve as the vehicle for an investigation into the basis of architecture and the design process. This thesis is a documentation of that investigation.en
