dc.description.abstractThe following research project examines the use of nature as a precedent for form and order in architecture. Includes a critical history of different beliefs and philosophies evident in Western thought. These principles are explored through the design of a complex of buildings and site interventions designed to promote a heightened sense of awareness of the natural surroundings, and to stimulate reflection on the relationship of the individual to nature and to the larger social collective.en
