dc.description.abstract	The present paper summarizes observations made on Mountain Lake, Virginia during 1961, 1962, and 1963. It includes data on the annual cycle of physical and chemical events occurring in the lake, and will serve as a point of departure for future, more specialized studies there. Observations made on the profundal bottom fauna of the lake during the same period are also reported.	en
