Abstract
This thesis has presented a theory regarding the interdependence of product design and process design as applied to industrial organization. The frame of reference used was Everett Laitala’s consumer-to-consumer cycle which separates industrial effort on the common basis of function. The explanation of the possible application and the guidelines developed for use have been very general in nature because the diverse industrial situations to which the theory may be applied prevent detailed instructions from being valid in all cases. The omission of Schedule Design from analysis in the thesis was not felt to be a fatal flaw preventing useful application in industry.
