Abstract

A macro language, developed for use with a Raytheon PB440 digital computer, is described. The language, called MUP, is built up from sequences of micro instructions, which are wired into the PB440, in such a way as to compensate for the small amount of available core storage. It resembles a conventional one address machine language in format but is designed to be used directly as a general purpose computational language rather than as an intermediate to construct higher level languages. A programming manual is included which contains all information necessary to use MUP on the PB440.
