Abstract
The controlled harvest experiment which was begun in December,1947 and continued through November, 1951, showed that conservative shooting merely utilities a portion of the quail population which would normally be lost to other decimating factors, Apparently, a controlled harvest does not ultimately affect the general trend of the population curve, These studies also indicate that the later the harvest is carried out in the fall, the smaller will be the removable surplus.
