dc.description.abstractCurrent emphasis on sustained supersonic and hypersonic cruise has sparked interest in more efficient power plants for this flight regime. Cycle studies have shown that the turbofan engine equipped with a supersonic through-flow fan, capable of accepting supersonic axial flow from the inlet, has the potential to be very efficient at the supersonic cruise condition.en
